We have paused our regular Sunday morning gatherings as New Journey enters a season of reimagining and planning for a relaunch, currently scheduled for September. During this season, we are holding reimagining sessions on Sundays at 10 am in the theater of Ormond Stone Middle School in Centreville. As we meet as a relaunch team, we are reimagining what the future could look like as we strive to create a church for the rest of us, offering a safe and encouraging environment for people to connect with God and others on a journey of following Jesus.
These sessions are open to the public. If you are interested in checking out a session, feel free to join us on a Sunday morning. All are welcome, regardless of your religious background. If you have questions, feel free to email our Lead Pastor, Kevin Hamilton, at pk@newjourney.cc.
A typical session begins with an optional time of informal greeting and prayer at 9:45 - 10 am. The session begins at 10 am with a couple of songs accompanied by guitar, a 15-minute talk on the week's reimagining topic, group discussion on that week's topic, and then closing with communion. The session ends at 11 am. Please note, offering insights during the group discussion is voluntary.
The sessions are informal, and refreshments are provided. We do not offer a separate children's program at this time. Kids are more than welcome. We do provide coloring supplies and older children are welcome and encouraged to participate in discussions if they would like to offer their thoughts. We believe children are not the church of the future, they are the young church of today! The journey is just as much for them as it is for us older "kids."
