Our Leadership Team

  • Kevin Hamilton, Lead Pastor

Kevin started his ministry journey at the age of 17. PK attended the Capital Bible Institute before interning and subsequently joining the staff of Capital Baptist Church in Annandale, Virginia.  He worked as a Pastor to Students, and was ordained in 2002.  After 5 years of service, he resigned from that position as he felt a call to focus on church planting.

While continuing to pursue church planting, Kevin has held various positions in corporate and Non-Profit organizations in his professional career as Director of Internal Communications, Organizational Development, Operations, Project Manager in the federal government contracting space, and currently Director of Operations for an Episcopal church in Alexandria (Monday - Friday). Kevin brings to his role as a bi-vocational pastor a unique understanding of the intersection of faith and career in the fast-paced DC Metro area and brings that perspective to his teaching ministry.

Kevin lives in the Newgate community of Centreville, Virginia with his Partner Luke Le Nguyen (m. February 14, 2020) and his mother Linda.  In 2019 Kevin's parents moved in with him as his father, affectionately known as "Pops" to the New Journey family, was battling cancer.  Pops was a founding member and served as an elder until he went home to be with God in November of 2019.

Kevin is excited to be a part of this team of dreamers who seek to build a Kingdom-minded "Jesus-y" community together!

  • Kathy Curry, Pastor of Spiritual Formation

Kathy grew up as a devout Catholic. Her ministry journey began in the sixties with a desire to enter religious life in a Community of Franciscan Sisters. Her brief retreat in the convent, made it clear, God was guiding her in a different direction.

From the late sixties to the mid eighties, Kathy served at various Catholic Churches in different ministries relating to youth programs and liturgy of the word and music. During this time, she married, had two wonderful children, attended the College of Staten Island and graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts (Performing and Creative Arts).

She also attended the Xerox International Center for Training and Management Development and received certifications in Marketing and Advanced Account Management. As Executive Account Manager for the US Marketing Group, she worked with accounts such as, the New York Stock Exchange and Goldman Sachs.

However, her passion for God was always at the forefront of her life. He never stopped leading her towards a deeper spirituality, through biblical studies and a call to gospel ministry. She eventually left Catholicism and along with a spiritual mentor, began a ministry of teaching and sharing the “good news” of salvation to those in her community.

Years later, Kathy relocated to Virginia where she lives with her devoted husband, Jerry. On October 25, 2015 she was ordained to the work of “Gospel Ministry”. The Rev. Kathy Curry is excited to be part of this team of dreamers, building a community where all people are invited to view and experience authentic faith, through the lens of Jesus.
